Tumble Tips
Safety is Number 1!
Coach Abdul has a long history of coaching this sport in a safe atmosphere and all skills are taught using the progressive theory. The skills progressions means that you child will be taught skills based on basic skills that your child has mastered. For example, your child will learn a back bend before learning a back walk-over, before learning a back handspring.
Healthy Eating! Healthy Bodies!
Eat a healthy meal prior to coming to class that will provide you energy to exercise without spending too much energy digesting. For example, oatmeal and fruit rather than high fat foods like cheeseburgers.
Gymnastics helps your body feel healthy so eat a balanced diet that will help your body stay fit.
An Outfit For Every Occasion!
If you choose not to wear a leotard, then comfortable clothes are a must. Shorts or sweat-pants and a T-shirt will work fine. They must be comfortable enough to move freely yet not baggy enough to get caught on equipment.
Long hair should be tied back in a ponytail or braid.
Bare feet are recommended.
