About UsUltimate Gymnastics, Inc. is owned by Justina & Abdul Mammeri. Coach Abdul is the heart and soul of our gym (Read testimonials). Abdul Mammeri grew up in Algiers, Algeria and began gymnastics as a little boy. His talent was evident and he became a member of the country’s National Men’s Gymnastics Team which included travel and training all over Europe and Africa. His coaching began as a teenager when as an older gymnast he began teaching the younger students. Abdul attended college in Algeria at the Institute of Sports and Sports Technology where he majored in gymnastics (which is unavailable in the US but similar to a kineseology and physical education) and completed a thesis on gymnastics techniques. The highlight of his career was supposed to be the 1996 Atlanta Olympics but that dream ended when the Algerian government revoked its funding to the Men’s National Gymnastics Team. Prior to the 1996 Olympics, Abdul won the 1995 African All-Around Men’s Gymnastics Championship at the All of Africa Games. In January of 1996, Abdul began his journey in the United States where he competed professionally at several competitions, subsequently retired as a professional gymnast, and soon launched his coaching career at several well established gymnastics schools in Maryland. He has coached boys team primarily over the past 11 years, but he has also coached girls, children, and adults. Ultimate Gymnastics was created in June 2007 to highlight Abdul’s talent and experience and share this with aspiring gymnasts in the Baltimore Metro area. Abdul Mammeri has been married to Justina De Bella Mammeri for 10 years, as they are business partners in Ultimate Gymnastics, and they have 2 boys, Josef and Noah. Josef is already on the men’s pre-team and loves gymnastics. Justina Mammeri is the wife of Coach Abdul and helps out with the administrative, billing, scheduling, and class registration for the business. She will be at the gym on evenings and weekends. Josef & Noah Mammeri are the children of Coach Abdul & Justina. Josef is on the preteam and you will see Noah in many of our parent child & preschool classes. Jessica Moss is the very first employee of Ultimate gymnastics and she will be working normal business hours Monday to Friday. She will be helping out with administrative duties, answering phones, and helping out with classes. She is a mother and a certified child care provider. Her passion is caring for children. Nehemiah is Jessica’s son who will be coming to work with her and playing with his friend Noah. |
